Diversity Management

Our Diversity Management training offers practical tools for creating and managing diversity in high performance teams.

Often, an undercurrent of tension resulting from unresolved diversity issues can manifest itself in destructive and apparently irrational behavior. When managers and co-workers have little understanding of diverse workforces and diversity issues not only is productivity negatively impacted, but there is also the potential for litigation. In today's climate in-depth diversity training is no longer an option, it is a necessity.

We view the world through individually constructed and socially imposed "windows". Becoming aware of the presence and impact of these windows constitutes the first step toward successful interaction with people whose perspectives and experiences differ from our own. Today’s managers have a simple choice: they can create an elevated awareness of diversity issues in order to integrate and develop their team, or they can allow the politics of divisiveness to propel their people into polarized camps.

In this course you will have the opportunity to deepen your understanding of how pre-judgments and fears affect perceptions and interaction. We will explore the covert and often unintentional behaviors that may impede collaboration among people who are culturally different. During these sessions we will examine and address the issues that arise when working with others from different racial and ethnic backgrounds. We will also learn about our individual and team capacities to exercise the leadership necessary to create unity from diversity.
